3 tips to increase webshop conversion

By René Gouw·15 October 2025·E-commerce

Converting browsers into customers does not always call for a bigger marketing budget. Often it is the experience around the sale, welcome, checkout and delivery, that decides whether a visitor buys.

1. Make visitors feel genuinely welcome

Skip the generic pop-up. A small, human touch, say a discount or gift for every tenth visitor with a real message, makes your shop feel personable and keeps people browsing long enough to buy.

2. Make ordering as easy as possible

Let people browse without forcing registration. If an account helps, frame it honestly: order faster next time, keep your order history and Track & Trace. Fewer barriers means fewer abandoned carts.

3. Let customers choose when they receive their order

Not everyone wants next-day delivery. Offer scheduling and alternative addresses, a workplace or a neighbour, and always send a confirmation with a tracking link so customers feel in control.

Conversion does not end at the checkout button. Personalisation, simplicity and clear communication all the way through delivery and after-sales are what turn one-time buyers into loyal, returning customers.
